I've only tied off to a mooring ball on one occasion and used one of the cleats to one side of the bow to run the line up to the boat and tie off. Docks were clean, great help in docking, very calm water. We booked the slip for 3 nights and upon arrival we hailed in to retrieve our slip number, the slip was provided and appropriate for our vessel, but the following day our slip was in use once we returned back to the marina from dinner. Outside the Ashley Marina and City Marina there are a bunch of boats on mooring balls. This mismanagement, the required use of Dockwa, and a sign on the stairs to the office stating "No admittance" tells me that marina management is inadequate or non existent. Have a great day.
