{"id":1301,"date":"2020-10-26T15:52:48","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T18:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myavma.ca\/blog\/?p=1301"},"modified":"2020-10-26T15:52:48","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T18:52:48","slug":"changes-to-pesticide-certification-during-covid-19-pandemic-extension-to-december-2020-july-2020-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myavma.ca\/blog\/2020\/10\/26\/changes-to-pesticide-certification-during-covid-19-pandemic-extension-to-december-2020-july-2020-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes to Pesticide Certification During COVID-19 Pandemic &#8211; Extension to December 2020 &#8211; July 2020 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pesticide industry workers and business owners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nova Scotia Environment will continue to support businesses online, so you can get certified or recertified without the need for in-person exams during this period of COVID vigilance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"220\" height=\"220\" src=\"https:\/\/myavma.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/home.ns_.world_.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1298\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Renewal of pesticide certificate of qualification: <\/strong>If your pesticide certificate expires between December 1, 2019 and December 1, 2020, we will allow you to operate under it for an additional year without renewing.&nbsp; We know that many certified applicators choose to take education credits rather than write the pesticide exam, but there has been limited opportunity to do that since December, so we are offering this option instead. There is no need to submit an application form for the extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have been able to earn enough education points, you may apply for a five year certificate by submitting the application with $66.35 fee and a copy of your course receipts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Renewal of pesticide business operator certificates: <\/strong>If your business operator certificate expires between December 1, 2019 and December 1, 2020, we will allow the business to operate for an additional year without renewing. There is no need to submit an application form for the extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First-time certificate applications: <\/strong>Nova Scotia Environment will continue to offer online exams to first-time certificate applicants.
