First of all, you may be asking yourself, “What is an RSS Feed?” Don’t worry about all of the tech talk. There is nothing to it, and the time it takes to read this article will be more than twice as long as it takes for you to set yourself up to use it.

The acronym RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’, and quite simply, it is a way for this site to deliver its content to you. About 10 years ago, back in the old days, you had to keep coming back to a site to check for new content over and over again. It is a waste of time, unproductive, and quite frankly a bit of a pain.

With RSS, you will not have to wonder if you are missing out on information from AVMA anymore. Once you subscribe, new content will be sent to you via email. Our RSS feed is set for delivery between the hours of 7 AM – 9 AM on the morning after a new article is posted to the site.

RSS can be delivered in a variety of methods but I have found that feeds sent to your email inbox work best. The RSS feed service that I use is Feedburner and is owned by Google.

feedburnerTo subscribe all that you have to do is enter your email address in the form on the right and click the ‘Subscribe’ button. A window will pop up and ask you to confirm that you are human by typing in the content of a  ‘captcha’ .

More geek-speak I know, but a ‘captcha’ is a combination of letters and/or numbers meant to be readable by humans but not by spam programs that continually surf the web looking for sites to attack.arrow

Please keep in mind that you must confirm your subscription to the RSS feed. An email will be sent to you that contains a confirmation link. You must click that to complete your subscription.

I have setup and tested this thoroughly. It is working great. So if you have any problems setting this up then post a comment below and I will address it ASAP.
